Craftable Tapestries?

I had heard about the addition of the Craftable Tapestries to the game and was wondering which ones were available and where I could find them, here are the tapestries from Wizard City.

So, Eudora Tangletree is selling the recipe's for Tapestries to each of Ravenwood's Schools, one to Nightside and some other special ones, including my personal favourite, the Bazaar.

Eudora Tangletree, as most of you would know, can be located in section showed on the right, of Olde Town.

Once here, the recipes cost 5000 gold each (very cheap if you ask me) and all require 19 TC's, 5 Fish and a varying mix of other items and reagents.

Remember, no two recipes are the same so never buy ingredients without checking the individual recipes. There is however, the Dagger of Absolution that is used in a number of recipes.

On the left hand side, you'll see all the Tapestries Eudora has for sale.

Remember, the reagents can be (depending on the specific reagent) very easy to pick up at the Bazaar so always check there if you're in need of anything.

Well, hopefully you've learned something new and make sure to pick up any recipe's you like the look of next time you pass by.

Good Luck Crafting!

Member Benefits and Official Blogs

Top stories this week.....
  • Member Benefits Begin
  • Official Status
Running slightly late due to a public holiday for Australia over here at the Keep. We missed a big ticket news item last week, so I am officially reporting news that is slightly older than normal - but it is definitely worth a mention. There were three more awesome blogs given official status, I just want to say a huge congratulations to all three of them - keep up the great work you do guys!

The other big story for the week was the first member benefits - and they came in mine and Morgrim's favourite past-time - Gardening. I hope that many of you were able to make use of these benefits by getting your plants to Elder and doubling up on those Crowns Seeds!!

Don't forget you can click on the paper to see the rest of the news being shared this week!

Hope you enjoy and we'll be back with another copy next week.

Double Gardening Rewards?

When logging into the spiral today, I noticed something a bit different.

What?? I logged on immediately to check my garden!

Sadly, My DHE's (Deadly Helephant Ears) weren't ready for harvest.

But my Couch Potatoes were! :)

Interested in how this, Double Reward deal would work, I harvested...

It turns out that they actually were talking about DOUBLE rewards! As shown below, I got the reward I would normally receive (gold, tc and snack) but then I got it again!

The only thing I'm interested in knowing is.. What about at Elder? Things Like CP's DHE's and EMP's are good to farm, not only for their rewards, but also for the fact that they replenish themselves at elder.

Will 2 CP seeds drop at Elder? Will KingsIsle do more of these double rewards events?

I'm not sure, but you should definitely get gardening!!

Good Luck Gardening!

What do Finding Nemo and Wizard101 have in common?

Top stories this week.....
  • 8 Things - do you know them?
  • Blaze's Pet Training
  • Craftable Music Boxes
When you're playing the game do you ever wonder where the stories come from? Well the folks over at KI have a new blog post giving us all 8 facts that "might surprise us".  You'll find out some pretty cool stuff over in that blog post. Things like:
  • Why the game was created
  • What it has to do Finding Nemo or ToyStory
  • The game is suitable for older style technology
  • The initial launch had four adventure zones - read the article to find out what they were!
Back at the Keep, Blaze has been busy discovering that Pet stats aren't everything.... sometimes it's all in the look! So he has been busy training a new pet - the Tempest. Being a Death Wizard I have to disagree with him about this being the perfect 'looking' pet as I have real issues with floating pets lol!! I do wish him the best of luck hatching and training this pet though, and look forward to updates on those stats.

Lastly, Stars of the Spiral share with us the recipes for crafting all the music boxes in the Spiral.

Don't forget you can click on the paper to see the rest of the news being shared this week!

Hope you enjoy and we'll be back with another copy next week.

I Love the Look of that Pet!

After achieving what was considered by me to be the perfect pet on most occasions, I hadn't done much pet training up until now.

I didn't think there was much reason to train and use energy when I have the pet I want but I soon came to realise.. I didn't! And this is even excluding the new talents that KI keep releasing!

What my pet lacked and could never achieve was...

The Look!

I never realised until I saw it, but my favourite looking pet is the Tempest!!

Now let's be serious. What Death Wizard would NOT want this pet? It's basically a death seraph and there is even a spell on this pet!

After a generous hatch from a friend, I had obtained my own and have been hatching vigorously with myself to get the same talents onto it. Wish me luck! :)

Thanks for Reading!

It's all in the name.....

Top stories this week.....
  • Time for a Smile?
  • Blaze's Tips
  • Krokotopian Secrets
Running slightly late with the Weekly this week, sometimes real life just seems to take over!

Let's get into it! KI have published a great article on their blog about the 'punny' names that are often used in Wizard101. I'm sure you've all seen one or two of them around, and maybe you have one of your own wizards with a creative pun used for the name. I was amazed to find that there are almost 2 million name combinations available. Oh and you really must spend some time reading the comments too. Being a Dr Who fan I just want to say thanks to lewski for pointing out that Amy Pond and Tyler Rose are both available - while not puns the fan names can be just as much fun!
In other news, Blaze is back with more tips. This time he has a neat tip of playing the Cannon Game  for Pet Training more efficiently. We all know that when it comes to Pet Training, fast is generally the want - so this is a helpful tip!
Lastly, Swordroll shares with us his experiences in the secret room in Krokotopia. I love the stories and rumours that surround Wiz101, so it's great to see that Swordroll and Elijah had success and 'found' the room. Although it was somewhat sad to keep reading and find that said room or glitch has now been removed. I hope the rest of the community continues to point out these cool glitches when they find them. They really are a heap of fun!

Don't forget you can click on the paper to see the rest of the news being shared this week!

Hope you enjoy and we'll be back with another copy next week.

Blaze's Tips & Tricks No. 8 An efficient Guide to the Cannon Game!

After doing a lot of pet training lately, I've been trying all the games out again.

I have a tip that I believe will come in very handy to those wishing to do the cannon game well, and quickly.

What you need to do, is put the power meter up to full and aim really low. This means that you don't have to worry too much about how the wind is going to affect your shot.

Use the practise shot to your advantage to judge the height of the cannon and with a little bit of practise you'll get much better.

This is how a typical shot of mine would look, max power, low aim and then worrying about the wind with the direction of cannon.

And again...

Until you've finished the round. If you do well, then you should average 3 - 4 points a round.

Hopefully this tip has helped you and good luck on your future pet training endeavours.

Thanks for reading!

Reflection and the Fansite Festival

Top stories this week.....
  • Fansite Festival
  • Best of 2014
  • 2014 in Review
Happy New Year from all of us at the Keep. We hope your Christmas was fantastic and wish each and every one of you a fabulous 2015 filled with fun and smiles! While we have been off on our holidays, the Spiral has kept itself busy. I haven't had time to catch up on all the news from fellow bloggers, but that is why I find the weekly so useful. There are a couple of copies for me to catch up on, you can use the Archive link at the top of the Weekly Page to view the older issues if you have been away and missed some!

This week is very much a time of reflection, but Swordroll shares the announcement of the Fansite Festival - this looks great and I will be checking this out in more detail this week.

Don't forget you can click on the paper to see the rest of the news being shared at the start of this new year!

Blaze's Tips & Tricks No. 7 Process of Elimination

Have you ever been out fishing and trying to catch a certain fish? If so then I presume you have used (once or twice) the 'Reveal Fish School' Spell. Although this is a very useful spell, sometimes, (when having to continuously catch multiple fish of the same school) it is hard to remember which fish is which!

A way to fix this little problem is by eliminating the fish of schools that you don't want!

Let's say I was after a life fish from this pond in Grizzleheim...

After casting the 'Reveal Fish School' spell, you can see that there are many fish not of the life school.

After a quick run through, eliminating all the non life fish, the pond looked a bit like this...

A few bites later...

And a Lifeacuda is mine!

Hopefully this trick helped you out on your fishing adventure and make sure to put it to good use!

Until Next Time!

Have Fun.... Stay Safe.... Merry Christmas Friends!

Hey everyone,

Well we are almost at the big day now, and the bad news is that I did not quite get time to complete my garden renovations. As you may recall, I was attempting to make the garden easier on the eye by using "Second Spring" to change most of the elder Happy Holidaisy plants back to red and white.

As you can see, I have managed to change a fair number of them, but the 50 energy hit was just too much. I had quite a few Energy Elixirs from Grub Guardian, and my standard level of energy in the game is 138. At present about 60% of them have been reverted to Red and White. I'm guessing that things will look good when this level gets to about 75%. I will continue to change them until I'm happy with the result!

In the meantime, it is time for this Wizard to go on holidays. So I'd like to wish you all a safe and fun Christmas with your friends and family.

I have enjoyed sharing my Spiral adventures with you this year, and hope you guys have found them both entertaining and useful.

See you in 2015!!

Tabitha.

Been waiting 5 months for this Spell!!!

Hey Everyone,

The time has finally come for me to get my spell. I had to pop over to Halfang for a bit of farming to sell gear at the Bazaar to replenish my Gold, and then I was all set.
The is a little quest and will see you off collecting a couple of Shrubbery items (I can just hear the Monty Python crew saying "Shrubbery!")

The quest ends saying that Roger has been restored to his rightful place in the Shrubbery, I just didn't know where! Well... actually I did. Luckily for me, Morgrim had taken me through this part of Avalon a while back and I sort of remembered the spot he would appear in... so it actually didn't take long to find him :)

This moment had been a long time coming. Ever since I finished my Christmas in July garden I have been hanging out for this spell!

I don't know if you remember that particular post. It started a conversation about whether the Happy Holidaisy looks better at Elder or at not. I had decided that a field of them at Elder was hard on the eyes, and difficult to actually pick out the individual plants.

So I decided that I would buy the Second Spring spell as soon as I could and start changing them to Red and White and see what looked best. I'll do another little post on that soon.

As you can see - it has taken Aug-Dec to get this spell. I'm now officially Spiral broke, but I have the spell. I see quite a bit of Halfang time in my immediate future as I need gold for the Reagents for Deer Knight..... but I have the spell.

Time to go back to my Winter Castle and start waving my new spell at those Happy Holidaisy plants. I wonder how it will all look for Christmas?

Have fun, until next time,
Tabitha

Crafting Deer Knight - Part 1

Hey Everyone,

I've been seeing the stork pop up quite a bit recently. Keeps telling me that I wasn't able to pick up a reagent because I have to many already. The reagent in question is Mist Wood. There is an abundance of it in Avalon, and I am now fully stocked.

This in itself is not an issue, the real problem starts when the Yuletide Pack is released and I can't buy any because my reagents are full! Luckily for me though, I was about to stumble on a new crafting quest that would fix these problems and give me a challenge to boot :)

Over at Avalon I have been mentioning a spell that I really want. I have been holding onto 250,000 gold for a while as I knew this was the cost. And then I found Grady, after I defeated the Indigo Giant. And Grady is quite a find - he sells craftable spells. Not TCs - actual spells. And so my 250,000 gold was seriously depleted as you can see left....

Deer Knight - 60,000 Gold thank you very much!

There is also Lord of the Night, and if I hadn't been hanging out for the other spell I would have purchased it too, but the Lord can wait. Deer Knight will be more than enough for now.

As you all probably know by now, I am a collector of many things. I try to keep my reagent levels up for most items should the need arise. And the need has indeed arisen here! As you can clearly see, I have the bottom row sorted included the ever elusive Amber. I know a lot of Wizards struggle getting Amber. Me? I have Morgrim to thank. His posts and eBooks on gardening have taught me a great deal, and in this case - gardening to get reagents. Nevertheless, the top row is lacking. Let's start with Blood Moss. I have 18 - I need 100. Hmmmm.

Time to go back to the Barn and my crafting tables to see what I have in the way of Transmute Cards that can increase this rather pitiful number. OK - so Red Mandrake will do for a few more, but nowhere near enough!

I use all of them and then start running through the rest of my Transmute Cards to see if I have anything else useful.

Good news! I have another card that Transmutes Mist Wood and Deep Mushrooms into Red Mandrake.

Now this is a double good find, as using Mist Wood will allow me to stop seeing the Stork for a while, and that means I can buy some Seasonal packs if I so wish.

I would always say to pick up any reagent you see as you wander around the Spiral. You can clearly see I have lots of these, which means lots of Red Mandrake will be the outcome. Let's see how many I can get and how that relates to the the Blood Moss numbers......

Well that's not bad going really. I have spent no further gold to go from 18 to 60 with reagents I have in my back-pack. I still have a way to go, especially the remainder of the Blood Moss and the Deer Knight TCs too. But my journey to gain Deer Knight has started well.

Now I need to pop over the Halfang to get my gold stores back up to 250,000 - I just know that spell is around the corner!

I'll let you know how I go on both counts!

Have fun, until next time,
Tabitha

King Artorious!!!!

Firstly, my apologies

After recently finishing Azteca (FINALLY!!!!) and doing the quests to unlock Khrysalis, I was asked to have a chat with the King of Avalon; King Artorious.

After asking if he wanted to join the Council of Light and the answer being 'I'm busy with things here,' The King thought that he would be able to help me in another way. The next minute, I had a new spell and was off to Unicorn Way to bash some souls.

I obviously couldn't wait to see this spell in action so I went to a quiet Realm and waited for my pips to gain.

Once I had them, I hit that spell and....
Fizzled.

After that first fail I was ready to try again, and The King doesn't disappoint!
